How to make Congee Recipe

  • Step 1 Boil the rice on medium flame

    Add 8 cups of water to 2 cups of rice and put it in a large pot. 

  • Let it boil on medium flame for 45 minutes. Now, add ginger into it.

  • Step 2 Cook until the rice has thick consistency

    Put a lid on the pot, tilting it to allow the steam to escape. 

  • Cook it for 15 minutes over medium low to low flame till the rice has the thick, 

  • creamy texture of porridge, stir occasionally.

  • Step 3 Add in the sweet potato, cook and serve

    Add small cubes of sweet potato in it. ter 15 minutes, 

  • add salt and cabbage strips to the mixture. Cook it all for 15 more minutes. 

  • The recipe is now ready. Serve hot.
